I just wanted to pass this one on, to give props where they are due.

I hope the PCSOT people and the LE folks will appreciate this.

A Canadian Police Investigator (RCMP) viewed images in the internet depicting two little girls being sexually abused.

Due to a particlular brand of beer can appearing in the pictures, the distribution was narrowed down to eight U.S. states, one of which was Maryland.

A Police Investigator in Maine noticed that one of the girls was wearing a unique pair of eye glasses.

Federal Agents in New York and Maryland contacted opthamologists in the region, located the Doctor that issued the prescription, identified the two victims, rescued them, and arrested the two adult sex offenders.

The two offenders were sentenced to 45, and 36yrs. in Federal prison with lifetime supervision, and to pay $100,000 restitution to the victims families.

I just thought this forum needed a feel-good today.

Excellent.

Probably helps, but may not completely solve, the trauma and impact on the children to know these guys will be incarcerated until they are too old to be dangerous (we hope).

Interesting that there were two offenders, not one. Most sex offenders work alone, and prefer to offend in secrecy. Publicizing on the internet is neither alone nor secret. Child pornography offenders are different in that they more often work together, and may want some degree of witnessing.
